I'm Jessie and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, offering a space for you to be able to feel heard and supported, alongside incorporating CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) style coping strategies for those aged 13+.

Having supported young people, young adults, adults, parents and carers in a number of roles, I am aware of the challenges faced in everyday life and would like to support you to having more of the life you'd like.

I am dedicated to working alongside you at your own pace and creating a space where your voice in the most important. I strive to offer this as  from my own counselling experience, I have been able to grow towards a more confident and calm person. I found that my overthinking became quieter and I was able to recognise my emotions and this is what drives me to wanting to offer this experience to you.

If you'd like to hear more about the support I can offer you, then please feel free to contact me for an introductory call.

I predominantly offer online and virtual sessions, allowing you to be supported from the comfort of your own home, however, I have a small number of face to face sessions so do let me know if this is preferable for you.

About me

I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Our sessions are led by you and I aim to create a space that feels comfortable and welcoming, in order for you to feel able to be open and honest. I offer a safe and empathetic approach to counselling for you to explore your own thoughts, feelings and emotions and to take everything at your own pace.

For me, counselling is about the relationship you build with your counsellor, this can take time and therefore I encourage sessions to be open ended, allowing you the time to explore many topics and to help you have the time to feel comfortable.

I have a variety of experience in different job roles with a focus on wellbeing, within schools, charities and the NHS, and have developed these skills over a number of years through work, voluntary opportunities and study.

A few particular areas of interest for me is aiding neurodiverse and neurodivergent individuals in coping with struggles in a neurotypical world. I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in adapting therapies for individuals with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) and LD (Learning Disabilities). I therefore provide a neuro affirmative counselling space to help everyone access the right support.

I have also spent the last four years working on a young people's cancer ward in a leading London hospital, offering emotional support and distraction during times of fear, loss and sadness. I am keen to offer a space to individuals, parents, siblings, carers and staff who have and are impacted by cancer.

Where to begin?

Taking the first step into counselling and therapy can be daunting, but by searching for my page and taking the time to read what could be on offer for you, you have taken that beginning step. To help you decide if this journey is right for you, I offer an initial 10 minute phone or video call to allow you time and space to ask questions and to consider if you'd like to continue with 50 minute sessions.

I believe that positive change from counselling is largely dependent on the relationship built between a client and a counsellor . Therefore, the initial call will also be an opportunity for me to introduce myself to you, to ensure that I can offer you the space and support that you are seeking and for you to decide if you'd like to continue sessions with me.
