Welcome to Jessie Drinkwater Counselling

Offering a safe space for positive change and growth through
person centred counselling
About me
Jessie Drinkwater
MBACP, PG Dip, MSc, BA
I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer person-centred counselling, therefore our sessions are led by yourself and I aim to create a space that feels comfortable and welcoming in order for you to feel able to be open and honest. I offer a safe and empathetic approach to counselling for you to explore your own thoughts, feelings and emotions.
For me, counselling is about the relationship you build with your counsellor, this can take time and therefore I encourage sessions to be open ended, allowing you the time to explore many topics and to help you have the time to feel comfortable.

I have a variety of experience in different job roles with a focus on wellbeing, within schools, charities and the NHS, and have developed these skills over a number of years through work, voluntary opportunities and study.

A few particular areas of interest for me is aiding neurodiverse and neurodivergent individuals in coping with struggles in a neurotypical world. I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in adapting therapies for individuals with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) and LD (Learning Disabilities).

I have also spent the last four years working on a young people's cancer ward in a leading London hospital, offering emotional support and distraction during times of fear, loss and sadness. I am keen to offer a space to individuals, parents, siblings, carers and staff who have and are impacted by cancer.

I also offer telephone counselling sessions. The session length will also be 50 minutes and will cost £50 which needs to be paid 48 hrs prior to our session.
Where to begin?
Taking the first step into counselling and therapy can be daunting, but by searching for my page and taking the time to read what could be on offer for you, you have taken that beginning step. To help you decide if this journey is right for you, I offer an initial 10 minute phone or video call to allow you time and space to ask questions and to consider if you'd like to continue with 50 minute sessions.
I believe that positive change from counselling is largely dependent on the relationship built between a client and a counsellor . Therefore, the initial call will also be an opportunity for me to introduce myself to you, to ensure that I can offer you the space and support that you are seeking and for you to decide if you'd like to continue sessions with me.
